We are looking for an experienced Brewer who is passionate about craft beer, possesses strong attention to detail, and has a knack for recipe development. In this role, you will be responsible for wort production, cellar work, packaging, and data collection.
The position requires a Monday-Friday schedule with occasional weekend tank check duties.
Responsibilities:
• Execute wort production according to established recipes and procedures, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Perform cellar work tasks, including yeast management, monitoring fermentation, and maintaining proper conditioning parameters.
• Contribute to packaging operations, such as canning, bottling, kegging, and labeling, while adhering to quality control standards.
• Accurately collect and record brewing data, including gravities, pH levels, temperatures, and fermentation progress.
• Collaborate with the brewing team to develop and refine recipes, experimenting with different ingredients and techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all brewing areas, following established protocols and ensuring product safety.
• Monitor and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the brewing process, taking corrective actions when necessary.
• Assist with inventory management, including raw materials, finished products, and packaging supplies.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience working as a Brewer in a production brewery or taproom preferred.
• Strong knowledge of brewing principles, processes, and equipment.
• Proficient in recipe development and the ability to innovate while maintaining quality standards.
• Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring consistency and precision throughout the brewing process.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Ability to regularly lift 50-pound bags of grain, fill and move kegs that weigh up to 140 pounds and maneuver heavy hoses.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, contributing positively to the brewery's collaborative culture.
• Flexibility to perform weekend tank checks on a rotating basis.
• Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on industry trends and brewing techniques.
