Duties include day-to-day supply chain, delivery and warehouse team management and logistics, including management of finished goods and raw materials storage and flow.Working together with the CEO and production team, the Operations Manager will assure that operations matches sales demands and be an integral part of the company’s rapid growth. Qualifications: • At least 3 years of extensive experience managing people in manufacturing and warehouse environments, in logistics roles, with a minimum of two years of senior leadership experience supervising seasoned staff operating across multiple teams • Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading and building relationships in diverse work teams, developing an organization-wide strategy for program excellence, and partnering with a CEO to deliver on strategic initiatives • The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 2 years direct, relevant experience in manufacturing and operations in the beverage industry. Job Requirements: • Ability to develop, test, implement and enforce new standard operating procedures/policies as required and gain staff buy-in • Willingness to chip in at all levels of the organization to support growth • Solid educational background including an undergraduate degree and an MBA, similar advanced degree or work experience equivalent • Proven experience developing an organization-wide strategy for program excellence, engaging • Can point to tangible examples of reporting and program measurement and evaluation. • Demonstrates integrity, strives for excellence in her/his work, with experience of leading others to new levels of effectiveness and programmatic impact in line with company core values • Forklift certification a plus Responsibilities: Overall: • Ensure all work is completed within agreed upon SOPs and quality standards • Manage the day-to-day operations with an eye towards continuous improvements of quality, efficiency and safety. • Represent our brewery at special events and meetings as needed People and Team • Work with CEO in recruiting, hiring, and training of operations team staff following on company hiring protocols, along with any necessary disciplinary actions • Manage operations staff, with an eye towards excellent at-least weekly communication and mentoring against the standards of our core values • Ensure staff is following all safety, sanitation and quality standards and SOPs • Monitor and maintain measures on staff efficiency, metrics and overtime, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and fairness in division of work • Encourage good communication practices and teamwork between all departments as well as between team members • Conduct personnel reviews according to company guidelines, documenting all staff interactions and performance management information • Implement practices to assure a high level of employee engagement Product Delivery and Pickups • With sales management, coordinate daily deliveries and delivery vehicles, with an eye toward customer satisfaction, quality and long-term company success • Manage successful wholesale distribution pickups, including proper documentation and follow-up as needed Product and Materials Warehousing • With production management, coordinate materials ordering and deal with suppliers, with support from Back Office staff • Manage all inventory of raw ingredients and packaging materials • Coordinate with production management all transfers needed between buildings to support production and warehousing needs Overall Operations • With production management, maintain brewery cleaning schedule, preventative maintenance, and repairs and monitor that all maintenance tasks stay on track to ensure smooth operations • Maintain the highest safety and hygiene standards throughout the brewery and warehouse, in compliance with all OSHA and local rules • Help keep accurate production and delivery records per company, federal and state agency record requirements • Implement strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports • Company strategic initiatives • Assure highly efficient operations are established within Company and regulatory guidelines. • Assist in development and execution of the plant’s annual operating budget and capital plan, in collaboration with leadership strategic initiatives for manufacturing • Achieve annual safety, quality, customer service and cost targets • With production management, ensure that all products sold conform with company standards • Ensure that all staff are trained in Good Manufacturing Practices as defined by the FDA and that all Company SOPs are in place to assist staff adherence • Maintain orientation and training procedures to ensure that all new and existing employees understand their tasks, machines used and safety protocols • Maintain a working knowledge of all machines and manufacturing procedures for new product development, existing product problem solving and efficiency improvement • Maintain individual skills to keep up to date with latest production and production management concepts • Maintain equipment maintenance schedules and plans to direct completion of maintenance tasks and any replacements/upgrades over time Success criteria for this position: Overall: • Have an eye for detail and inspire others to meet high standards • Be product and distribution for our accounts • Always be looking for ways to improve staff and equipment efficiency People and Team • Set a good example as a leader in following SOPs and safety procedures at all times • Always be looking to support staff with candid feedback and be an active leader in one-on-one quarterly meeting and performance management culture • Recruit, assess, and develop a plant leadership team that is capable of optimizing cost-advantaged plant performance • Implement new strategies and lead change management to achieve continuous improvement Interdepartmental: • Always be looking for ways to improve communication with internal and external partners • Be an active part of success of logistic and delivery team members by identifying issues and helping avoid delays, redundancy, etc.
