This position is more than brewing beer, as they will play a critical role in achieving company goals.Our ideal candidate has experience operating a production brewery and is excited to be an integral part of the management team.
Essential Skills:
• 3-5+ years in a production brewing environment; 2+ years of managing direct reports.
• Formal brewing education or certification preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to create and manage budgets, and forecast production in an ever-changing market.
• Strong mechanical skills (i.e. maintaining, repairing, and operating pumps, and brewery equipment.)
• Exceptional communication (verbal & written), documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Excellent computer and organizational skills; proficiency in Google or Microsoft Office
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee all day-to-day brewery operations (forecasting production planning, managing direct report(s), budgeting, recipe development, yeast management (harvesting, pitching, cell counts), brewing, packaging, cleaning, troubleshooting, mechanical repairs and maintenance, cellar work, kegging, more cleaning, fulfilling distribution orders, writing SOPs, etc)
• Plan and schedule mobile canning operations.
Inventory and supply chain management, including securing hop contracts, ordering grains and other necessary brewery supplies.
• Managing production, inventory, and invoicing in Ekos.
• Ensure all preventative maintenance takes place on brewery equipment and infrastructure.
• Attend industry events, give tours, lead tastings, attend festivals and special events, which may fall on evenings and weekends; Other duties as business dictates.
• Work with the Sales and Marketing team to manage inventory, plan new beers, prepare for canning runs, etc.
Maintain core beer lineup while developing seasonal, one-off, and collab beers.
Work Environment:
• This is a very physically demanding position, the Head Brewer must have the physical strength and agility to:
• Work on their feet for 8+ hours a day (stand, crouch, walk, stoop, twist, turn, kneel) in a wet and slippery environment
• Lift 55 lbs. repeatedly; lift 165lb kegs and materials occasionally
• Climb ladders, lift hoses, parts, pumps, shovel grain, handle hot and cold liquids, etc repeatedly
• Work safely with chemicals.
• Operate a standing electric forklift - experience or certification preferred, but not required.
• This position requires the ability to drive the company vehicle; individuals must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Compensation and Benefits:
• Annual compensation of $55k to $65k (DOE)
